Safecontractor Approved 
Safecontractor is a third-party accreditation scheme that assess health and safety arrangements. Many major clients recognise the scheme and will accept Safecontractor certification as confirmation of compliance. The scheme has over 22,000 contractor members and more than 220 clients, including some of the UK’s biggest blue-chip companies.

St. Cuthbert Mayne 
ST CUTHBERT Mayne's new classroom block has been opened and blessed. 
The opening coincided with the annual tradition at St Cuthbert Mayne School, Torquay, of celebrating the feastday of the school's patron saint.

The celebrations involved scripture readings, prayer, contemporary music and drama as well as the blessing and official opening of the new Jubilee building. 
The sports hall was transformed with flowers and displays creating an inspiring yet calming environment in which the celebration services could take place. Students and staff welcomed their invited guests, including Bishop Christopher Budd from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Plymouth and Archdeacon John Rawlings from the Anglican Diocese of Exeter. 
Bishop Budd and Archdeacon Rawlings each gave a homily focusing on the theme for the day, 'By our words and actions are we known'. 
The new £1.6million Jubilee Building was blessed by Bishop Budd and Archdeacon Rawlings. 
After the blessing, both of the honoured guests cut the ribbon to open the doors. 
St. Cuthbert Mayne
Richard Cord of Kensington Taylor Architects and the directors of MBS Building & Maintenance witnessed the official opening and received thanks and compliments for the impressive building. 
Head teacher Cathy Gilfillan said: "We are delighted with the new classroom accommodation. It's spacious, bright, comfortable and provides an ideal learning environment which will be appreciated by staff and learners for many years." 
The school is now looking forward to its 50th anniversary in June 2012 and planning further celebrations. 
They are asking former students, particularly those who were there at the beginning, to get in touch. 
Teignmouth Community Hospital : New Physiotherapy Unit 
A NEW £800,000 physiotherapy unit has been officially opened at Teignmouth Community Hospital. 
The newly built extension which received a £600,000 donation from the Teignmouth Hospital League of Friends will benefit patients accessing physiotherapy, occupational therapy and spinal services. 
The unit consists of a number of purpose-built therapy rooms, with specialist equipment, a gym area specially designed for patient assessments, as well as office accommodation for physiotherapy and occupational therapy staff. 
The new unit will be named the Jenifer Hammond Unit after a former physiotherapist who worked for more than 30 years in Teignmouth Hospital. 
Tracey Mckenzie, Matron at Teignmouth Community Hospital said: “The new extension looks absolutely fantastic and we are delighted that our patients can now benefit from the improvements. The extension is bright and airy with a new comfortable waiting area for patients and modernised clinical areas. 
“The new purpose built surroundings will enable us to provide high quality care, in a modern and fully equipped environment.”
