The Shippen & Bank Barn were in need of maintenance & updating to provide watertight buildings and return to use at a later date.
Alterations, consolidation and repairs including associated services and landscaping were undertaken.
The Shippen - Loose stone walls were taken down rebuilt & others consolidated, Oak lintels inserted, Oak doors & windows, new softwood north wall built, softwood trusses, corrugated tin roof, bat loft formed.
Bank Barn - South gable stone wall rebuilt, existing walls underpinned consolidated, Ground Floor excavated & new concrete slab laid, rear wall reinforced with tanking & retaining wall, First Floor removed and replaced with new softwood joists & plywood decking, Oak lintels inserted, Oak doors & windows, existing roof & structure removed & replaced with softwood trusses & corrugated tin roof, bat access maintained.
Loggia - Rear stone wall consolidated, new Oak Loggia structure erected between Shippen & Bank Barn.
This meant that the existing buildings have been consolidated and made watertight. Externally the garden walls were built with new hard landscaping & steps. The work was carried out in the summer of 2014 using our own dedicated in-house workforce and approved sub contractors.
